Born & bred in western Sydney Bart understands the needs and aspirations of the region. Bart worked in a variety of jobs including driving cabs to put himself through training to become a commercial helicopter pilot. Bart identified the urgent need for NSW to have access to emergency helicopter services that other countries such as the USA had established many years before. Married to Bronwyn a nurse specialising in emergency and intensive care for babies together they have fought for better services for children and families in our region. Bart & Bronwyn operated a small business servicing Penrith and Hawkesbury regions. Bart has a passion for making sure that the State Government delivers good quality services and infrastructure such as roads, schools, hospitals and public transport on an equitable basis across NSW. As the Mayor of Hawkesbury City Council since 2004 Bart has built on a strong foundation of advocacy for improved infrastructure to make sure that residents have in place the basic services needed to maintain a good quality of life. Bart currently serves on a number of Committees on behalf of Council including; Local Traffic Committee; Western Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils (WSROC); Sydney Road Links Committee; E-Commerce/Markets Advisory Committee; Strategic Planning Committee; Audit Committee; Hawkesbury Civics and Citizenship Committee; Western Area Assistance Scheme Local Ranking Committee; Community Development Support Expenditure Scheme Local Committee (CDSE). Bart is also involved in other Community committees including; Chairman Windsor Road Task Force; Chairman North West Infrastructure Task Force; Former Vice-President Hawkesbury City Chamber of Commerce. Bart’s personal interest include; Gardening; Horse Riding; Bush Walking; International Political Affairs; Aviation. |
